What Grok Bot Remembers, and How to Manage It

Checked against xAI's official docs on Oct 28, 2026

Tired of explaining your business to an AI every single time? Grok Bot remembers things between chats. Here's what xAI's changelog says about memory, checked on Oct 28, 2026.

What a personal Bot remembers

The changelog for version 0.75.2 (October 22, 2026) says what a personal Bot saves to memory in one chat is remembered in all your chats with it, and only you can change it. An earlier release says Bots with a lot of saved memory or skills reply without a several-second pause, and save and forget memories reliably.

Bringing memory from another assistant

Version 0.77.0 (October 26, 2026) adds Import Memory in Settings. xAI says it brings your preferences and context from another AI assistant into your primary Bot. The changelog marks it as needing Grok Bot 0.75.2 or later.

Removing memory

xAI says deleting a Bot permanently erases its conversations, memory, routines, and attachments, and removes its Slack app.

What to tell your Bot: our suggestions

These are our ideas, not xAI's.

  1. Your business basics: what you sell, your hours, and your service area.
  2. How you like to write. Our brand voice guide helps.
  3. Who your regular contacts are, and how formal to be with each.
  4. Leave out passwords and card numbers. The Vault is built for those.
