The problem: You have happy customers, but no stories to show new ones. Writing a case study feels like a big project, so it never happens.
What you end up with: A short, honest customer story for your website or social media, drafted from a quick interview or email answers, and approved by the customer before you share it.
What you'll need
A happy customer willing to answer a few questions, and their permission to share their story.
Getting set up
Have happy customers but no stories to show for it? Here's how to tackle it, based on each tool's official docs. First, pick a tool. Google says Gemini in Docs can create first drafts that match your tone. Notion says its AI can generate docs from your pages. HubSpot lists a Content Agent that builds blog posts, social content, and landing pages in your brand voice. Next, write five simple interview questions. Then, get the customer's answers by email or a short call. And last, the AI drafts. The customer approves before anything is shared.
Step by step
- Ask a happy customer if they'd share their story.
- Send five questions: their situation before, why they chose you, what you did, what changed, and what they'd tell others.
- Give the answers to the AI and ask for a short story.
- Ask for a one-line quote and a short social post version.
- Check that every detail matches what the customer said.
- Send it to the customer for approval and edits.
- Publish only the approved version.
A prompt to start with
Copy this prompt, then make it your own. "Using only these interview answers: [answers], write a short customer story (under 300 words) with: the challenge, why they chose us, what we did, and the result in their words. Then pull one short quote and write a two-sentence social post. Don't add numbers, results, or details that aren't in the answers."
What you'll get
A short customer story, a pull quote, and a social post, ready for the customer to approve.
If something goes wrong
If it sounds like an ad, ask for a plain, conversational tone. If it invents results, remind it to use only the answers. If answers are thin, ask one follow-up question.
Keep in mind
Get written permission before publishing. Never invent or exaggerate results, and follow advertising rules on testimonials where you operate. Let customers remove their story anytime.
